In which we tell you about our many works in progress.
Homeschooling, teaching, writing, recorder playing, knitting, spinning, home renovation, gardening, anything else that comes up.
I'm not much for appliances but gosh, I couldn't live without my breadmaker.
I love your cat. We had one just like it about 5 years ago. She was absolutely wonderful. Unfortunately we were irresponsible pet owners and she died for lack of a FL vaccine. We now have her grandson who's a pain in the butt but fully needled.
Love the pictures...everyone looks relaxed...esp. your cat, who looks similar to our cat, Thistle.Sweet Tabby... I am a little concerned about the design of the bread on the red plate. I can't decide if I"m just thinking totally in a WRONG way since this is a family blog...or there is some design my eyes are missing and I"m not focusing on?? But then again, everything for me has another meaning. I'm not so much a deep thinker as a gutter type thinker...in a clean way.
The item on the red plate is a pastry pocket containing apples and sausage. Big carefully made leaves out of pie crust for the decoration on top. It was my mother's day treat, and it was delicious. I would have explained, but it was Monday in Pictures, right? No words.
I used to be a teacher at an alternative elementary school, then I taught my own kids at home for a few years. This is where I try to figure it all out. I sometimes freely opinionate about what kids need and how school ought to be. There are lots of good discussions happening in the comments. Please chime in.
We started this blog as a place to chronicle our ongoing work on our old house, and sometimes that still comes up, as do knitting, spinning, and assorted other topics related to having a house and children.

i enjoy this "monday in pictures" series!
do you have a bread machine or bake in the oven?
Oven. We have a policy of having no appliances that serve only one purpose. Snobs, we are.

How did my cat get on your bed?!
:-)
I love the picture of your cat!
I also keep returning to this post so that I can see the image of the freshly baked bread. It makes me more content just seeing it.
