happy friday

Here's a tiny corner of my house that doesn't require any work at the moment.

We're having a quiet day. Big One is working on the recorder composition he started yesterday. He's transcribing the notes he's playing onto a staff. Little One is lego-ing. I am about to cast on two new knitting projects.

It's cold, clear and snowing.

I have to go to the bank and the grocery store today, wish we could all just stay in.

TWO new knitting projects? Why are you starting two at once??

Hi Ma! Because they're both small, and they're both very, very late. Christmas presents, believe it or not.

Good reasons. At this point, maybe you should get them done and give them as presents NEXT Christmas! The recipients may just have forgotten, and think how good you'd feel to be so far ahead of the game.

In theory I like the idea of doing 2008 Christmas presents in February of 2008. In practice, however, I never manage to do it.

Beautiful stones! We have a few nooks full of special rocks too. I keep two especially smooth ones in my office. If I hold them they soothe me when I have a frazzled client on the phone. Thankfully that doesn't happen often.
Thanks for stopping by my blog!

I used to do that too! I would keep a smooth beach pebble in my pocket and touch it throughout the day when I was teaching. Now that I'm not, my stress level is much lower, and it's funny to find these small rocks in my pockets from last year.
