rainy day

Seriously rainy. Just coming down, and down and down. I don't even want to take a peaceful walk through the neighborhood with Cricket the dog in this weather.

It's a day for spinning, and building forts in the living room.

A really good day for hot cocoa, as it turns out.

I'd love to tell you I'm full of inspiration for all sorts of ideas for blog posts, and that I'll be back on the blogging horse soon, but I'm afraid it's just not happening. I've become an occasional blogger. I do miss the connections I had with other introspective homeschooling bloggers, and I miss that moment after noodling around with some idea about kids and learning for a while, when it crystalizes into a position worth writing about.

The good news is that a lot of my educational blather is less in the realm of theorizing and chit-chat, and more in the practical world of teaching. Our little homeschooling playgroup is gaining momentum as a co-op, and I now have regular opportunities to work with other people's kids. It's really good to be working again.

I really appreciate you taking the time, when you feel the inspiration, to write in your blog. I love keeping up with folks and seeing their lived unfold and sharing with eachother, like this. Thank you.
Our day has mostly been filled with playing with Legos(Bionicles) and playing all the musical instruments around the house. :)
I am glad to hear you are enjoying the way the coop is coming along.

Well, I wish you'd get back on the blogging horse, but that's just for me :-) Life, which is so much more important, sometimes supplants it. And this way I don't have so many opportunities to get jealous of all your spinning!

Missing you, but glad you are getting opportunities to work with other kids. I know that is your passion.

I, too, am so happy you're working with other people's kids again, especially since mine is one of those lucky kids! Your class has actually been an important factor in our decision to switch to full-time homeschooling. So thank you, thank you, thank you for doing all that you do!

I love your rainy day pictures. Colorado is gorgeous, but it does lack good rain storms. I miss hearing the rain hit the roof. I miss the constant noise level of the rain that makes the world feel as if it were muted. I don't miss having to walk the dogs in the rain, but I do miss going out in the rain when I have some time to not have responsibilities. And I definitely miss the coming inside to hot chocolate after being out in the rain! Your pictures brought me longing and joy. Thank you for sharing.
